We provide a new and
replacement oil tank service.Oil tanks are available in either steel,
or plastic, the plastic tanks having been used for approximately 10
years now and have proved the test of time with, as yet, no failures.
The site requirements for the two types are slightly
different:-
Steel tanks are usually supported on two or more
brick / concrete piers with a damp-proof membrane between the pier and
tank.
Plastic tanks (shown left) are normally placed
directly on a concrete base that supports the whole of the tank base.
This can be at ground level, or the base itself can be raised on
piers.
Please note: new regulations that came into force April 2002 may mean
that you will have to re-site / replace your existing tank if it does
not meet
the new standards. Existing tanks over 3500 litres are covered by The
Control
of Pollution Regulations 2001 and all have to be bunded
by September 2005.
Those at "significant risk" have to be bunded by September 2003.
( Bunding is
the provision of a suitable catch-pit around the tank in case of spillage.
The
same effect is achieved by using a purpose made "tank within a tank.")
The siting of new tanks is now covered by British Standards BS 5410 Part 1.

Below is a rough price guide for replacement tanks,
but as each job is
slightly different, and will have to be viewed on site, please contact
us for
a firm quote.
The work includes removal of the old tank, transfer of existing oil
to
new tank and re-connection of existing oil line. New or modifications
to existing bases can also be undertaken.
